According to the study 'Atlas of Axial Spondyloarthritis in Spain 2017', the risk of unemployment is three times higher for patients who have this disabling disease, with high rates of disability and permanent disability. The majority of workers (49.2%) work in a mid-level occupation in Administration, the restaurant sector, security or commerce, or as qualified personnel in agriculture, fishing, industry and construction. 39.8% belong to a high-level occupation, in direction and management, in professions associated with a university degree, technicians and support professionals. 11% are installers or operators of machinery and unqualified personnel.
