Working on a fair, inclusive and sustainable energy transition is one of the objectives of the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF). And the main reason for the creation of the first Sustainable Women's Network in our country , which was presented in Madrid and which already has representation from the Institute of Knowledge Engineering (IIC).
Silvia Ramis and Ana Relaño, data scientist and Whatsapp Number List meteorologist at the IIC respectively, were at the day that marked the birth of this group along with more than 40 professionals from the sector. At this meeting, working groups were formed in which the main lines they faced were debated: the promotion of women in photovoltaic energy jobs , from education with STEM subjects, the wage gap between men and women in this industry and ways to make it visible and combat it.

Joint work in photovoltaic energy
The IIC has been a member of UNEF since April 2023, with the aim of staying up to date with the photovoltaic sector and sharing with other agents in the sector our experience in artificial intelligence applied to the prediction of renewable energy generation, demand and the main variables of the energy markets.
Joint work – in groups like this women's network or in different events – that also allows us to continue improving our solutions, not only from a technical point of view, but also from a social point of view. From UNEF, they propose to transform our companies and institutions to set an example for the society we serve and create together a more sustainable model.
